needle Work press says of this sampler - "Sometimes a sampler gives us few, if any, clues regarding its maker or origin. Such is the case with this useful and elegant alphabet sampler. Stitched over two threads on high-count linen, the antique likely was a reference designed to be used as a pattern for future stitching. The random letters (ML, IL & L) between the top alphabet and the motifs could indicate that the maker’s last initial was L. As neat as the letters and punctuation are, it is curious why the samplermaker was somewhat careless with her numerals. (We have seen this on several other samplers as well.) Whether you stitch the entire sampler or use the alphabets as a reference for future projects, we are grateful that you have added this chart to your collection.". A companion sampler to "Six Red Alphabets". It  is recommended that it be stitched on a high count linen. You may want to stitch it in its entirety as a sampler or use the alphabet as a resource for other projects.
The stitch count is 485w x 233h.
The model sampler was stitched on 46 count linen from Lakeside Linens using Gloriana Tudor Silk. Alternatives could be 45 count Legacy Linen, or a 40, 36 or 32 count linen in the colour of your choice.
You should allow at least 2" border for this sampler, we recommend and cut our linens with a 3" border.
