This design is a section of a large tapestry wall hanging, the original set of which is in the Cluny Museum in Paris. They are full of symbolic images and this section is from 'Sight'.

The kit has large scale black and white charts printed 10 stitches to one inch on sixteen A3 sheets. The pattern is worked in whole cross stitch using a single strand of cotton. The design uses 68 shades which are sorted onto cards with symbols matching the charts. The stitch count is 350 by 500.

The kit contains:-
27 count Jobelan in rust red;
DMC stranded cottons sorted onto cards;
charts, needle and instructions.

The fabric is closest in shade to DMC cotton 3776, Anchor shade 883.

As with all Thea Gouverneur kits, floss numbers are not available.
