Cross stitch pattern from Hands Across the Sea Samplers.
Reproduction of a sampler stitched by Elizabeth Weston around 1830 at the age of 11.
The pattern has three levels surrounded by a bold flower and vine border. The top level includes a passage which begins, "Next unto God, dear parents I address myself to you" and two large flower vases. The middle level includes the attribution "Elizabeth Weston, Aged 11 Years" and two small trees with parrots seated on them and birds flying nearby. The bottom level includes a building (labeled "Temple of Fame") and two large fruit trees with animals and birds surrounding them.
This is a large pattern but is suitable for all ability levels.

Can be stitched with Au ver a soie Soie d'alger, DMC or Needlepoint Inc silks
