About ALLTHREADS EMBROIDERY Allthreads Embroidery is a one of Queensland's only specialist needlecraft shops located in the Brisbane south-eastern suburb of Norman Park and owned and managed by Kerryn Lightfoot.Kerryn has a passion for embroidery and fine needlework and this is obvious in the many embroidered projects that adorn the walls of her shop. She is also a keen quilter and has a collection of quilts, many of which are embellished with hand embroidery. Although her favourite techniques are stumpwork, ribbon embroidery, creative embroidery and Brazilian embroidery, she is competent in many other techniques, including wool embroidery, crewel embroidery, and goldwork. With such vast experience she is keen to share her knowledge and experience and help with any projects which you may have.Working with Kerryn in Allthreads Embroidery is Debbie Mercer, a renowned embroidery designer and teacher. Debbie specialises in creative embroidery and incorporates stumpwork, ribbon embroidery and surface embroidery into her designs. She is a very experienced teacher having conducted workshops in her designs throughout Queensland and interstate. Debbie is the "tutor in residence" at Allthreads Embroidery and takes many of the regular weekly classes. She is experienced in all types of hand embroidery techniques. Kerryn established Allthreads Embroidery in 2005 upon returning to live in Australia after many years overseas. During this time she was reliant on mail order and online shopping for her embroidery supplies, and understands the difficulties that are so often experienced by stitchers in isolated communities. Committed to providing the service and products to customers of a “ONE STOP SHOP” for embroidery supplies, Kerryn has stocked Allthreads Embroidery with a huge array of threads, ribbons, beads, buttons, charms, kits, patterns, books and other accessories. She carries complete ranges of many specialist embroidery threads. Allthreads Embroidery is open Mondays to Fridays 9.30am to 3.30pm,and Saturday 9.00am to 12.00pm. The shop does not open on Sundays. Allthreads Embroidery offers personal shopping in a relaxed, friendly environment, with experienced staff willing to help you. Classes are held weekly in a range of embroidery techniques including stumpwork, ribbon embroidery, Brazilian embroidery, wool embroidery, creative embroidery, hardanger and drawn thread, smocking, crewel embroidery and a program of classes is available.Kerryn arranges for visiting tutors from interstate and overseas to come to her shop monthly to conduct specialist workshops in a variety of hand embroidery techniques. Regular visiting tutors include Alison Cole, Margaret Light, Susan O'Connor, Jan Kerton, Maree Talbot, Helen Pearce and Catherine Howell. A program of workshops is available. These workshops provide an opportunity to extend your skills and knowledge.Kerryn publishes regular newsletters filled with tips, ideas and new products.
