The weekend before last we hosted a visit by Margaret Light, renowned for her crewel embroidery designs. Marg visited for four days during which time she conducted two workshops. In the first workshop the girls worked on a redwork necessaire, which proved a fun project and one which they have all pledged to complete. Margaret also taught a gorgeous footstool design which was stitched with Gumnut Yarns Daisies on linen twill. This was a very popular workshop and all who attended were thrilled with the design. Margaret will be returning in September to teach another of her redwork designs.
Last weekend Catherine Howell visited and taught her designs “The Gatsby Girls” and “T-Cups”. These are some of Catherine’s fun designs and certainly the girls who did the workshop had a fun time. They achieved amazing results and several had nearly completed their projects by the end of the two days.

We have a large range of Catherine’s kits in store if you would like to try your hand at these techniques.
